Can I obtain Social Security retirement benefits and Supplemental Security Income (SSI)?

 

Depending on the amount of your Social Security retirement benefits, you may qualify to receive additional funds through SSI.  However, your SSI benefits depend upon the state in which you reside.  Also, receiving SSI may allow you to obtain food stamps, Medicaid, and other forms of state/local aid.
